I had pretty much just accepted that the dowloads folder was just slow to open ’cause it hates me…
It doesn’t even need to have much in it. A couple small files and you may find that the default Windows 7 Downloads folder takes several seconds longer than every other folder to open up.
Well, I decided to see if anyone had a solution for this. I found one. And it just so happens to be the easiest, stupidest thing I could have imagined.
Fix Your Slow Win 7 Downloads Folder
- Open a Windows Explorer window
- Go to Computer > (C:) > Users > You, and Right-click on Downloads folder
- Select Properties
- Select Customize
- “Optimize” the folder for Documents
- Click Apply, then OK
Well that was easy…

i dont know abt u guys but i think its something related to icons loading not thumbnails.
This is what i did and it worked

so i copy pasted E:software in my browser and it opened in less tan a milisecond 😛
k not that fast but faster tan te 1-2 mins it took to load those icons
te only prob i had wit tis was i had to ctrl+f to find any file
